I know, I know the choices are not mutually exclusive. But at the very least, one or the other must be true, in light of the...wait, have I written this already? Nooo...sorry, I sometimes get the father & son mixed up, since they're both so corrupt and chock-full-o'-nuts. This time, it is Roy Blunt who is either lying and/or stupid, for according to Wayne Gilchrest (R-MD), Blunt doesn't "think there [is] enough evidence to suggest that humans are causing global warming."
Gilchrest said. "Right there, holy cow, there's like 9,000 scientists to three on that one."
As punishment for his incredulity at Blunt's stupidity (and John Bohner's rigidity...politically speaking, that is), Gilchrest will not be serving on the newly-created House Select Committee on Energy Independence and Global Warming. Gilchrest was one of several moderate & science-minded GOP House members passed over for inclusion on the committee, because they simply could not bring themselves to say "humans are not causing climate change."
Gilchrest expressed his interest in the committee several times to [Minority Leader John] Boehner and Minority Whip Roy Blunt of Missouri, telling them the best thing they could do for Republican credibility was to appoint members familiar with the scientific data.
Sir, the Blunt is not interested in credibility, far from it. He is simply trying to curry favor with his corporate masters and self-deluded end-of-times wingnut voting bloc. Surely, this is not news to you? The full list of Democrats & Republicans who were empaneled:
