Tim Marshall of Sky News is reporting that Prince Harry will not be going to Iraq after all. "He is a magnet for jihadists. Sending him in not only endangers those around him - the effect of being kidnapped would be a blow to the entire UK." The Sky News Article states
The Prince, who is 22, was expected to be deployed with his Blues and Royals regiment in the coming weeks.I can understand the position the British are in. Harry probably does want to serve with his men, but given the nature of the conflict his very presence in Iraq would place the life of every man around him at greater risk. Anybody surprised?
He is likely to be disappointed with the decision not to send him as he has always insisted he wanted to serve alongside his men wherever they were sent.
