Baring the unexpected (to be expected this Summer) the Senate Judiciary Committee has a very light hearing schedule this week. The Subcommittee on the Constitution has scheduled a hearing on "Oversight of the Federal Death Penalty" for Wednesday, June 27, 2007 at 9:30 a.m. On Thursday, June 28, 2007, An Executive Business Meeting has been scheduled by the Committee on the Judiciary. That meeting will focus on S.1145, the Patent Reform Act of 2007.
The hearing on “Executive Nomination” scheduled by the Senate Committee on the Judiciary for Tuesday, June 26, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. has been cancelled. The President has withdrawn Mr. Mercer’s nomination. There is no truth to the rumor that the Majority Members will be spending the time between 10:00 a.m. and noon gloating.
