How Many Times Must Cannonballs Fly Before They Are Forever Banned?

Its Friday night after a week of watching Republicans stand in the way of truth, justice and the American way of peace. I suspect everybody else is out cat blogging. That is what they call getting drunk on Friday night, isn't it? They all seem to want to cat blog on Friday nights. In the old days I would have gone out to enter an altered state with my friends. I am too old now and long ago learned that getting drunk on Friday night just gives me a headache on Saturday morning. Nobody pays much attention to anything I say here on Friday nights anyway so I think I will post a video that has meaning to people who opposed another war a lifetime ago.

I wonder why there are no anti-war songs being produced today. I guess Colbert might be right about Solitarity. Kids today are too busy attending to their keyboards and websites to care about other kids dying thousands of miles away. Today's Bob Dylan and Kris Kristofferson are busy typing code and getting rich. Today's protesters are meeting on MyFace and text messaging. Except for some old farts, people who have lost family and others who have seen friends blown to bits in Baghdad, nobody is standing up for peace.

Tonight you might want to listen to this old Bob Dylan song performed by Peter, Paul and Mary, old farts all.

Blowin' in the Wind

How many roads must a man walk down
Before they call him a man
How many seas must a white dove sail
Before she sleeps in the sand
How many times must the cannonballs fly
Before they are forever banned
The answer, my friend, is blowing in the wind
The answer is blowing in the wind

How many years must a mountain exist
Before it is washed to the sea
How many years can some people exist
Before they're allowed to be free
How many times can a man turn his head
And pretend that he just doesn't see
The answer, my friend, is blowing in the wind
The answer is blowing in the wind

How many times must a man look up
Before he can see the sky
How many ears must one man have
Before he can hear people cry
How many deaths will it take till he knows
That too many people have died
The answer, my friend, is blowing in the wind
The answer is blowing in the wind
