Sloppy Reporting Or Republican Bias In The Main Stream Media?

The following quote is from a current wire story written by the very experienced ANNE FLAHERTY, Associated Press Writer.

WASHINGTON -The Senate rejected legislation Friday that would have ordered most U.S. troops home from Iraq in nine months, culminating a losing week for Democrats who failed to push through any anti-war proposal.

The vote, 47-47, fell 13 votes short of the 60 needed to pass.
A better description of what actually happened is that "Republicans successfully filibustered legislation that would have . . . . . The vote 47-47, fell 13 votes short of the 60 needed to cut off debate."

I have a hunch Anne knows that her opening paragraphs are misleading in a way that helps the Republicans hide the fact that they have been using filibuster after filibuster to bottle up anti-Iraq legislation. The same Republican favored frame seems to be occurring over and over again. Somebody needs to do some reporting on the reporters.
