On this day in history, Republican President Dwight Eisenhower committed an unforgiveable assault upon the rights of the sovereign state of Arkansas by utilizing members of the 101st Airborne to forcibly integrate Little Rock's Central High School. Ironically, the Republicans have been reaping the continuing electoral harvest of lingering racial animosity in states such as Arkansas ever since.
