Document Dump

What a night. The DoJ released about 3000 pages of documents. Most routine, some not so routine. None containing an obvious smoking gun. Initial thoughts. Carol Lam wanted more time to finish some cases. She was denied that additional time. "And we granted 1-month extentions for Dan and Margaret, but not Carol, right?" Kyle Sampson. dump 2-1 page 43. Dan and Margaret wanted more time to find work. Carol just wanted more time to finish her(Foggo--Lewis?)cases.

Interestingly, several of the terminated US Attorneys expressed bewilderment over their firings. All were good Republican loyalists. Nobody had any sympathy for any of them (well one guy worried a little about Brogden--because he was a fifty year old who had always worked in government.) If these sharks are your friends, you don't need any enemies.

Tim Griffin's defense of his Florida election activities was particularly pathetic. Ultimately it was decided that he should not to stand for confirmation. The only smart move in the entire tragety. He would have been eaten alive. It must have been painful for Griffin to wake up and realize that because of his work for Karl Rove he would never become a Federal judge.

It is painfully obvious that there are many missing documents. Those have to be found. Subpoenas are in order. You can down load all the documents yourself at the House Judiciary Committee Website.

If you want to join a bunch of citizen journalists reviewing the documents in real time you can do so at TPMmuckraker.com.
