Now Bush is Now Ignoring Past Genocides.

When you get right down to it, how is this any different than Holocaust denial?

From the International Herald Tribune:

WASHINGTON: President George W. Bush and two top cabinet members urged lawmakers Wednesday to reject a resolution that describes the deaths of hundreds of thousands of Armenians early in the last century as genocide - a highly sensitive issue at a time of rising U.S.-Turkish tension over northern Iraq.

I understand the necessity to not piss off the Turks, but it's a pretty well documented campaign against a minority group and Turkey would be well off to recognize it. They have no incentive to reconcile ths dark stain on their history if no one pressures them to do so. The EU has, by and large, taken these steps... we're all waiting on Washington
